Designed for videography and photography
This wide-angle lens from Samyang has been designed to meet the demands of videographers and photographers. The aperture is continuously adjustable from 3.1 to 22, and the focus adjustment is smooth and easy. This allows for smooth tracking of the focus when shooting video. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a toothed ring and are thus optimised for use with follow focus systems. For better legibility, the distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side.
Unique perspectives
The compact 14 mm wide-angle lens from Samyang creates unique shots. Unlike telephoto lenses, the wide-angle reduces the image scale for the same subject distance, making it possible to capture a larger area. The Samyang lens is suitable for the entire spectrum of photography and videography, but especially for landscapes and indoor shots. The distinct impression of depth offers room for creative impressions. With a closest focusing distance of just 28 cm, the manually focusable wide-angle lens is particularly suitable for sharp and high-contrast images at close range. Thanks to the excellent light intensity of 1:3.1, optimal shots are possible even in unfavourable light conditions.
High-quality workmanship
The lens is constructed to a very high standard of quality. The metal housing is very robust and impresses with its noble appearance. The glass lenses of the lens are coated and thus produce an excellent contrast and sharpness range as well as a well-balanced colour balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimal image results. The lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections from the side.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
