Designed for videography and photography
With the wide-angle lens from Samyang, you are equipped for both videography and photography without having to make time-consuming changes to your camera. The aperture can be adjusted continuously, minimising transitions in exposure. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a toothed ring and are thus optimised for use with focus pullers (follow focus systems). Lens for APS-C cameras!
Expressive and fast landscape shots
The Samyang 16/2.2 APS-C with a focal length of 16 mm is ideal for expressive landscape shots and as a reportage lens thanks to its wide angle of view and high depth of field. The high lens speed of 1:2.2 allows for a very good exposure time even in unfavourable lighting conditions and can therefore also be used excellently indoors. Focusing and aperture adjustment are manual. The close-up distance is 20 cm.
Sophisticated optical design for outstanding image quality
A sophisticated optical construction with 13 multi-coated glass lenses, including two aspherical lenses, ensures particularly high imaging performance. Thanks to the use of ED glass, colour and aperture errors are corrected so that no disturbing colour fringes occur and the image quality is considerably improved. The multi-coated lenses prevent reflections and thus make more light available to the image. In addition, the coating also increases contrast and produces a more brilliant colour rendition.
High-quality workmanship
The metal housing is very robust and impresses with its noble appearance. In addition to the high-quality optics, the removable lens hood, which prevents stray light and lens reflections from the sides, ensures optimal image results and further design possibilities. The filter thread has a diameter of 77 mm.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses designed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used (mainly by using an adapter) on cameras with a full-frame sensor. However, due to the much smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. Using APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
