Ideal for architecture, landscape and art photography
Dynamics and extensive image information can be discovered immediately when shooting with the Samyang 12/2.0. The short focal length of 12 mm gives you a convincingly large angle of view of 99° (83° on an MFT camera). Compared to the standard focal length, the image information is almost 6x larger, which means that nothing stands in the way of expressive photography. The high lens speed of F2.0 gives you confidence in changing conditions - at dusk, indoors, or outdoors in fog or rain. The short closest focusing distance of 20 cm benefits dynamic image composition. Focusing and aperture adjustment are manual, the lens has no built-in image stabiliser (if your camera has a built-in image stabiliser, it will of course work with the 12mm F2.0).
Outstanding image quality
For excellent imaging performance, great emphasis has been placed on optimal lens construction. Two of the 12 lenses are aspherical and thus ensure excellent correction of aberrations. In addition, one lens is made of ED glass (extra low dispersion), which you can recognise by the fine colour markings. All 12 glass lenses are multi-coated, which prevents reflections and increases the contrast in the image and ensures brilliant colour reproduction. 2 lens surfaces are nano-coated, which ensures even better beam transmission. The Samyang 12mm F2.0 delivers very good image quality even at open aperture. The 6 aperture blades are almost circular at closed aperture, which expresses the star-shaped beam beautifully and clearly.
Small, light and compact
The wide-angle lens from Samyang is built and calculated for system cameras with an APS-C sensor. It convinces with its small dimensions (only 72 mm overall length) and the low weight of only 235 g. It also impresses with its high mechanical quality thanks to the aluminium alloy.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses designed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used (mainly by using an adapter) on cameras with a full-frame sensor. However, due to the much smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. Using APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
