Designed for videography and photography
With the Samyang 12/2.2 Video DSLR, you are optimally equipped for both videography and photography without having to make time-consuming changes to your camera. The aperture can be adjusted continuously, minimising transitions in exposure. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a toothed ring and are thus optimised for use with focus pullers (follow focus systems).
Ideal for landscape, architecture, art and nude photography
The Samyang 12/2.2 Video DSLR with a focal length of 12 mm is ideal for expressive landscape, architecture, art and nude photography thanks to its wide angle of view. The high speed allows for very good exposure times even in unfavourable lighting conditions for optimal shots. Focusing and aperture settings are manual. The closest focusing distance is 20 cm. Lens for system cameras!
Excellent image quality
For excellent imaging performance, great importance was attached to an optimal lens construction. All 12 glass lenses are multi-coated, which prevents reflections and thus makes more light available to the image. In addition, the coating achieves better contrast and more brilliant colour rendition. The reduction of reflections is additionally supported by a nano coating. Two of the 12 lenses are aspherical and thus ensure optimal correction of spherical image errors. In addition, one lens is made of ED glass (extra low dispersion), which also optimally corrects chromatic aberrations.
The wide-angle lens is made for system cameras and convinces with its extremely low weight and compact design. At the same time, the metal housing is very robust despite its light weight.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses designed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used (mainly by using an adapter) on cameras with a full-frame sensor. However, due to the much smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. Using APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
