The image angle of up to 109.5° allows you to capture areas beyond the human field of view. With this lens you won't miss a thing - whether indoors, in journalism, architectural or travel photography - there are virtually no limits. In terms of design, this opens up new dimensions for you. Excellent image quality and high-quality workmanship
The Nano Coating System (NCS) used minimizes stray light and ghost effects, resulting in crystal clear, high-contrast images. The two aspherical lenses reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion, contributing to the excellent imaging performance of this lens. Focusing and aperture adjustment are done manually. The metal tube with its rubberized adjustment ring provides a good grip, is very robust, and impresses with its elegant appearance. The focus adjustment happens soft and yet precise. Aperture values are clearly clicked in half steps. The lens hood, which is necessary for the large image angle of up to 109.5° and precisely calculated for the angle of view, is permanently mounted.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with full-frame sensor
Some lenses developed for cameras with APS-C sensors can also be used on cameras with full-format sensors (mainly by using an adapter). Due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the sensor area outside the image circle is black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full format camera thus equals that of a camera with an APS-C sensor and is correspondingly smaller. Therefore, the images have to be trimmed during post processing. In the video field, this method requires framing in post-production. The use of APS-C lenses on full frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
