Optimal angle of view - perfect close-ups
The Samyang 100 mm macro lens is a classic portrait focal length, at the same time it delivers wonderful close-ups.
Used on the APS-C camera, an image angle of 15.4° is effective, which roughly corresponds to the image impression of a 150 mm lens. The very convenient speed of f/2.8 does not change. It not only provides an extremely bright viewfinder, but also the possibility of detaching the motif from the background through the smallest depth of field. The lens is very well corrected and convinces with its very high and distortion-free imaging performance. Of course, all lens surfaces are multicoated to increase the contrast of the images and to avoid reflections. Everything is rounded off by a precise lens mechanism, clearly latching aperture values in a high-quality metal frame. The manual focus moves comfortably and easily.

Internal focusing
The lens is equipped with an internal focusing system. Lens groups are shifted internally, the overall length of the lens does not change and the front mount does not rotate when focusing. Thus, gradient and polarization filters can be easily applied (size 67 mm).

Optical construction
15 lens elements in 12 groups testify to an enormous technical effort which was put into obtaining a very good and powerful optical system. In spite of the average image angle, there are hardly any aberrations visible even at full aperture.
