Versatile wide-angle lens with fast speed
The Samyang 24/1.4 lens opens up a wide range of possibilities for creative photography. If you use a full-frame camera, you'll love the 24 as a documentary and indoor wide-angle lens. Its selected focal length does not yet produce a fleeting foreground, as is the case very quickly with shorter focal lengths, but still captures 4 times the image information compared to a normal lens. This makes it very popular for landscape photography: a natural reproduction of the impression of vastness is desired here. The very high initial aperture of f/1.4 also provides you with a very bright viewfinder for focusing and image design, but also the possibility of creative freedom between foreground and background.
Internal focusing
The lens is equipped with an internal focusing system. The overall length does not change during focusing, nor does the filter mount rotate. This simplifies the use of gradient filters in landscape photography. The internal focusing via partially shiftable lens groups also has the advantage that good image quality from infinity to close-up is achieved evenly. Focusing and aperture selection are done manually by the photographer.
Aspherical lenses
For a full-frame wide-angle lens with 1.4 aperture, the lens is compactly designed. This was achieved by using high refractive glass (ED) lenses. In addition, two aspherical glass lenses (ASP) increase the imaging performance, you will notice it in the image: almost all imaging errors are successfully corrected.
Advantages of a full frame lens on a camera with APS-C sensor (or smaller)
Save time in post-processing: A variety of lens defects such as distortion, blur, or vignetting appear on the edges of the image. If you use a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas will not be used in the first place. Thus, you automatically get the maximum quality and no additional time for correcting lens errors needs needs to be invested in post-processing.
