Designed for photography and videography
This lens was developed by Samyang for the high demands of video and photographers. The aperture is infinitely adjustable from f/1.5 to f/22, the focus is soft and easy to adjust. This makes it possible to smoothly adjust the sharpness, especially for video recordings. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a gear rim and are therefore optimised for use with Follow Focus systems. This simplifies filming. For better legibility, the distance and aperture scales are mounted on the side.
Versatile portrait focal length for moving and still pictures
The Samyang 85 mm f/1.5 lens has the ideal focal length of 85 mm for portrait photography. The lens is also particularly suitable for reportage photography. The excellent speed of f/1.5 allows excellent shots even in less favourable lighting conditions.
High quality workmanship
The lens has a very high quality construction. The robust metal housing captivates by its elegant optics. The glass lenses of the lens are coated and thus provide an excellent contrast and sharpness range as well as a balanced color balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimum image results. The lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections entering from the side.
Advantages of a full frame lens on a camera with APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A variety of lens defects such as distortion, edge blur, or vignetting appear on the outside of the image. If you use a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas will not be used. Thus, the maximum quality is obtained. Additional post-processing time for the correction of lens errors is therefore not necessary.
