Developed for videography and photography
This wide-angle lens from Samyang was developed for the special requirements of videographers and photographers. The aperture is steplessly adjustable from f/1.3 to f/16, the focus is soft and smooth. This makes it possible to gently adjust the focus of video recordings. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a gear rim and are therefore optimized for use with Follow Focus systems. For better legibility, the distance and aperture scales are positioned on the side.
Versatile wide-angle focal length and high lens speed
The Samyang 35mm f/1.3 lens offers the ideal wide-angle focal length for a wide range of creative filming and photography applications. The focal length of 35mm is particularly suitable for documentary shooting, making the lens an all-rounder. The very high speed of f/1.3 enables excellent images even in less favourable lighting conditions.
High quality workmanship
The lens is of high quality construction. The metal housing is very robust and impresses with its elegant optics. The glass lenses are coated and therefore provide an excellent range of contrast and sharpness as well as a balanced color balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimum image results. The lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections entering from the side.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with full-frame sensor
Lenses developed for cameras with APS-C sensor can be used partially (mainly by using an adapter) on cameras with full format sensor. Due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges are imaged in black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full format camera thus corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. Thus, the images have to be trimmed during the post-processing. The use of APS-C lenses on full format cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended. An advantage is, however, that one can shoot Open Gate and needs to frame only in post-processing.
