walimex pro Aptaris Universal Frame
Extremely flexible cage system compatible with virtually every DSLR, mirrorless cameras and small form-factor camcorder heaving flash shoe aligned with tripod thread. The cage allows for effortless mounting of of accessory monitors and 4K recorders such as the Atomos Shogun.

The Universal Frame is the first Aptaris cage allowing for adjustment not only in terms of height, but also in terms of width.  The adjustable inner space ranges of 78-130mm / 3”-5.1” in height and 160-252mm / 6.3”-9.9” in width make the cage easily adaptable to individual configurations and requirements.  If desired, the optional Aptaris Universal XXL Adapter can then provide for height extension of up to 103mm/4”. 

The Universal Frame is equipped with numerous 1/4" and 3/8” threaded holes on both its Top Plate and Side Supports; these allow for substantial flexibility regarding the mounting of accessories such as lights or microphones.  The Frame is also equipped with a bubble indicator for quick and easy levelling.  Finally, precisely-machined interfaces on the Top Plate allow for the simultaneous use of up to two optional Aptaris L Brackets, and a new integrated Quick-Release interface on the Base Plate allows for effortless attachment to the Aptaris Rod Module.

The diversity and range of the various Universal Frame adjustments make it possible for you to configure your Universal Frame precisely to your needs and ergonomic requirements.  All important camera operational points such as memory card slot, battery compartment and connector sockets remain free and accessible.  The included Aptaris Large Handgrip can be mounted via Minirail either on the Top Plate or Side Supports – and the Handgrip provides additional 1/4" and 3/8” threaded mounting points as well.  Special requirements can also be precisely served via the use of the many optional accessories in the Aptaris program.

These extensions give you the possibility to move the handles further away from the handle module and thus to adapt the carrying position. The extensions thereby are absolutely twist proof and do not permit accidental slipping of the handles. Thanks to the ¼ threads, they can also be used to mount accessories.Just like all accessory parts of the Aptaris system, this extension has also been developed and made in Germany and is characterized by highest quality workmanship. Extremely light and long lasting aircraft aluminium is also used for this product.

Defective jacks and cable connections are things of days gone by. No matter whether USB, flash synchronization or HDMI connections: The Cable Protection protects these highly sensitive areas against defects caused by pulling the cable. One or several cables at a time can be simply routed through and fixed with two knurled screws. Rubber paddings on either side protects the cables against damage. This padding also allows you to fix cables of different thicknesses. With two 1/4 inch screws the cable protection can be flexibly fastened on the Cage. Just like all accessory parts of the Aptaris system, this cable protection has also been developed and made in Germany. It is characterized by its outstanding workmanship. Extremely light and long lasting aircraft aluminium is also used for this product.

The walimex pro swivel arm anti-twist safeguard prevents the swivel arms becoming loose because of the lever action on the joint between 1/4 inch screws and the holes. The set, comprising a upper and lower anti-twist safeguard adapter is suitable for almost all swivel arms that are fitted with 1/4 inch threaded bolts.

Simple and safe assembly
The lower part of the anti-twist safeguard can be attached simply with two 1/4 inch screws (provided) to a rig or cage. The adapter is made so that the swivel arm can be attached to other surfaces, if desired, such as to wood or concrete. Two elongated holes ensure that the holes can be spread at varying distances from each other. The swivel arm is screwed into the 1/4 inch inner thread of the anti-twist safeguard using its 1/4 inch threaded bolts and can also be fixed with the wing bolt provided.
The upper part of the anti-twist safeguard is fixed in place once the swivel arm has been screwed in using an Allen key, too. An Allen key has been provided. Accessories that have to be assembled on the swivel arm are placed on the accessory slot, and simply attached using a 1/4 inch screw. It is no longer necessary to laboriously screw the accessories on to the swivel arm. The screw has recesses so that it can be tightened with the Allen key. Additionally, a rubber plate on the accessory slot prevents slipping.

Multifunctional helper
The walimex pro Swivel Arm is a multifunctional, flexible helper that should not be missing in any studio. The bracket, which is 28cm long, is equipped with three joints, two of which come with high-quality ball joints. This allows you to realize individual positions. The central locking wheel in the middle of the hinged bracket is particularly convenient, as it allows you to adjust and lock all three joints at the same time according to your requirements. You are also flexible redarding your connection options. Two 1/4 inch screws with thread adapter and flash shoe adapter are at your disposal.

Ideal for the use with DSLR rigs and dollies
The Swivel Arm also offers flexibility in its use: it is ideal for the use with DSLR rigs and dollies. With it, you can attach video accessories such as video lights, monitors or microphones to your rig or dolly. The joints allow you to arrange the hinged bracket as needed.

Also suitable for shooting tables and autopoles
Additionally, the hinged bracket can be used on shooting tables, in order to realize unusual positions, or for unique perspectives on tripods and autopoles. The high quality materials ensure the necessary stability.
