Strong Optics
The angle of view is 28.9° at full format and 19.1° at APS-C. The resolution more than does justice to the 30.3 megapixel resolution of the Canon EOS R. Look forward to brilliant images!
Fast and ... fast!
The very wide open aperture of F1.4 allows you to take pictures even in low-light situations. The bokeh of this lens is also very well balanced. Thanks to the 9 rounded blades of the aperture iris, highlights in out-of-focus appear as circles, and starbursts of highlights in focus feature 18 rays.
The autofocus is driven by two linear ultrasonic motors (DLSM), making it particularly fast and precise, even with fast moving objects. You can rely on a focused subject!
Special lenses for the minimization of imaging errors
The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 RF lens for Canon R features 4 HR (high refractive) and 1 ED (extra low dispersion) glass lens. This design ensures that your portraits are always crystal clear and crisp at any aperture and focus position. Samyang's own multi-coating UMC (Ultra Multi Coating) of the glass lenses does the rest to optimise the beam path, which consists of 11 elements in 8 groups: It reduces reflections and ghosting. Even with an open aperture, images are crisp from center to edge.
Ready for quick use even in bad weather
The large open aperture allows a lot of light to fall onto the sensor and thus enables short exposure times even at low light levels. The AF/MF switch allows you to switch to manual focus without taking your eye off the eyepiece.
The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 RF also features weather protection. In the lens, rubber lips ensure that neither rain nor dust can enter the lens.
Astonishingly small and light
At only 584 grams, the lens is significantly lighter than many other lenses of this focal length for RF mount. Thanks to its length of 9.7 cm, the Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 fits into practically any photo bag. The lens hood is removable. The filter thread is 77 mm, the maximum diameter of the lens is 88 mm.
