Designed for photography and videography
This fisheye from Samyang was developed for the needs of photographers and videographers. The aperture is continuously adjustable from f/3.8 to f/22. Focus control is soft and smooth. This makes it possible to smoothly adjust the focus of video recordings. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a gear rim and are therefore optimized for use with Follow Focus systems, especially for filming with DSLRs. For better readability, the distance and aperture scales are positioned on the side.

Unique recordings
The fisheye lens from Samyang enables a completely new view of things. There are no limits to creativity thanks to the unusual perspective. Due to the extraordinary depth of field and the extremely large image angle, all possibilities are open to the experimental video filmmaker and photographer. The Samyang Fish-Eye has a focal length of only 8 mm. Even at a minimum distance of 30 cm, exciting wide-angle shots can be captured in brilliant sharpness. The high light intensity of f/3.8 enables excellent shots even in less favourable lighting conditions.

New image design possibilities for moving and still images
With the Samyang fisheye, videographers have a wide range of design options, especially for spherical panoramas. Straight lines, which do not lead through the center of the picture, are displayed curved. The distortion is strongly barrel-shaped. This special lens type has a particularly short focal length for its image format size, whereby the image is represented with curved shapes. Thus, images taken with the Samyang Fisheye get their typical spherically distorted perspective.

High quality workmanship
The lens is constructed to a very high quality. The metal housing is very robust and captivates by its elegant optics. The glass lenses of the lens are coated and thus provide an excellent contrast and focus range as well as a balanced color balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimum image results. A lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections entering from the side.

Using an APS-C lens on a camera with full-frame sensor
Lenses developed for cameras with APS-C sensor can be used partially (mainly by using an adapter) on cameras with full format sensor. Due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges are imaged in black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be trimmed during post-processing. The use of APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is possible, but not recommended.
