Designed for photography and videography
This fisheye from Samyang was developed to meet the demands of photographers and videographers. The aperture is continuously adjustable from 3.8 to 22 and the focus adjustment is smooth and easy. This allows for smooth tracking of the focus when shooting video. The aperture ring and focus ring are equipped with a toothed ring and are thus optimised for use with follow focus systems, especially for filming with DSLRs. For better readability, the distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side.
Unique shots
The Fisheye lens from Samyang offers a completely new way of looking at things. Thanks to the unusual perspective, there are no limits to creativity. Thanks to the special depth of field and the extremely wide angle of view, all possibilities are open to video filmers and photographers who like to experiment. The Samyang Fish-Eye has a focal length of only 8 mm. Even at a minimum distance of 30 cm, exciting wide-angle shots can be captured in brilliant sharpness. The high speed of 1:3.8 allows for excellent shots even in less favourable light conditions.
New image composition possibilities for moving and still images
With the Samyang Fisheye, videographers are given a wide range of design possibilities, especially for spherical panoramas. Straight lines that are not in the centre of the image are shown curved and the distortion is strongly barrel-shaped. This special type of lens has a particularly short focal length for its image format size, which means that the image is depicted with curved shapes. This gives photographs taken with the Samyang Fisheye their typical spherically distorted perspective.
High quality workmanship
The lens is constructed to a very high quality. The metal housing is very robust and impresses with its noble appearance. The glass lenses of the lens are coated and thus produce an excellent contrast and sharpness range as well as a well-balanced colour balance. The particularly high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimal image results. A lens hood prevents stray light and lens reflections from the side.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses designed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used (mainly by using an adapter) on cameras with a full-frame sensor. However, due to the much smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. Using APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
