With a focal length of 24 mm, you can easily capture even large subjects! The impressive angle of view of 83.7° on full frame and 60.9° on APS-C gives you a lot of freedom in image composition. Thanks to its special features, high speed, consistent imaging performance and excellent resolution right to the edge of the shot, the Samyang 24mm F1.8 is ideally suited for astro and landscape photography. It has been specially designed for Sony Alpha E-mount mirrorless cameras. The high speed of 1:1.8 allows a lot of light to reach the sensor, so that even in dark shooting situations you can work without flash and freehand. Thanks to the particularly high light intensity, this lens is also suitable for shooting indoors.

Programmable Custom Switch, LED indicator for focus at infinity and another revolutionary special function for astrophotography
The programmable custom switch can be assigned an astro mode. This switch allows you to choose between two settings. For the astro mode, it can be assigned with manual focus. As a novelty of this lens, the Samyang 24mm F1.8 can also be automatically focused to infinity by pressing the focus hold button. An LED indicator on the side of the lens gives a green light as soon as focusing has been successful. The factory pre-calibrated focus setting to infinity can be recalibrated by the user, overwriting the factory setting. This function is particularly useful for astrophotography, as it is difficult to focus automatically in the dark.

Extensive range of functions thanks to the Focus Hold Button
The focus hold button on the side of the lens can be assigned various functions in addition to the astro mode and the custom switch. For example, eye detection autofocus, a programme that continuously focuses on the eyes of people or animals in the picture. As soon as the focus hold button is held down, the camera searches for eyes in the frame and the lens focuses unerringly on them. This allows you to work efficiently without having to take the camera off your eye. By default, the Focus Hold Button is set to AF-Lock: If the button is held down, the currently selected focus is maintained.

Small, light and compact
With a low weight of only 230 g, a length of just 71.5 mm and a diameter of only 65 mm, the Samyang AF 24 mm F1.8 is extremely compact and the ideal companion on any star trek. The compact dimensions make the lens up to 24% shorter and up to 48% lighter than many comparable lenses of this focal length. With the Samyang AF 24mm F1.8 you are equipped for a variety of photographic challenges in everyday life as well as when travelling. The lens hood is removable and filters with a 58 mm thread can be attached.

Fast and quiet autofocus
The autofocus in this lens is driven by a linear stepping motor (LSTM) that is fast, quiet and precise. The LSTM focuses very quickly in still and video photography and, especially in video recording, provides continuous focus without the noise of the focus drive interfering with video recordings.

Highest optical quality
The high quality optical construction of 11 lenses in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses (ASP), 3 high refractive (HR) lenses and 2 low dispersion glass (ED) lenses, ensures crystal clear, high resolution images from centre to edge, even at F1.8 open aperture. All glass lenses are coated with Samyang's proprietary Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). Thanks to the 9 rounded aperture blades, you get beautiful round highlights in the bokeh as well as 18-beam sun stars at light sources in focus. The closest focusing distance is only 19 cm, which is significantly less than many comparable lenses from other manufacturers. A short closest focusing distance makes it possible to take photographs even in tight situations. The extra fast F1.8 aperture gives you up to two stops more light than comparable lenses.

Weather protection for all elements
Built-in Samyang Weather Sealing allows you to capture great subjects even in adverse conditions. The rubber lips in the lens and on the bayonet effectively prevent dust and splash water from entering, so you can work in snowfall, light rain or dusty environments without any problems.
