The function
The lens hood (also known as sun visor) reduces the amount of light entering the sensor from the side. The so-called lens flares are reduced, which increases the image quality. In addition, the sunshade offers a certain protection of the front lens against rain and light shocks or touches (fingerprints). For space-saving transport, we recommend mounting the lens hood "upside down" on the lens.
