The function
The lens hood (also known as sun visor) reduces the amount of light entering the sensor from the side. The so-called lens flares are reduced, which increases the image quality. The use of the sun visor makes the pictures look less dull and low in contrast. In addition, the sunshade offers a certain protection of the front lens against rain and light shocks or touches (fingerprints). For space-saving transport, we recommend mounting the lens hood "upside down" on the lens.
