XEEN stands for terrific imaging performance and extraordinary mechanical processing. The entire XEEN Cinema division of SAMYANG is designed to meet the special needs of film producers. Robust materials, uniform design and decoupled aperture and follow focus sprockets are just a few points that reflect the high demands on a video lens.
The fast cinema lens 35/1.5 XEEN is suitable for full-frame, internal focusing, and versatile due to the relatively wide angle of view. Like all XEEN Cinema lenses, the XEEN 35/1.5 has a resolution of 4K and is identical in design to the other lenses in this line. This means that the overall length, housing diameter and the fixed sprocket spacing for the aperture and focus ring are exactly the same for all models.This means that changing lenses, whether in a rig or on a tripod, is quick and easy, even with the Follow Focus System installed. As usual with cine lenses, this XEEN lens also features a gridless and infinitely adjustable aperture with side-readable aperture values and distance scale, as well as sprockets for focusing via Follow Focus.
High-quality mechanics and workmanship
Of course, the 35/1.5 XEEN can not only be used with cameras that have a full-frame sensor. Filming is absolutely no problem even with Super 35 mm, APS-C and APS-H camera sensors. The sharpness of this lens is already convincing when the aperture is fully open and can be precisely controlled via the 200° long focus.
The lens construction of 13 lenses in 12 groups was installed in a robust tube made of aluminum. The necessary settings on the Follow Focus or aperture ring are infinitely variable and can be attached to all Follow Focus systems with a 0.8 mm sprocket. The 11 aperture blades of the 35 mm Cinema Lens provide an almost circular and beautiful bokeh.
