Item description

Unique shots
A completely new view of things is possible with this fisheye lens from Samyang. Thanks to the unusual perspective, there are no limits to creativity. Whether in panorama or landscape photography or even in the tightest of spaces, the Samyang Fisheye can be used to achieve brilliant all-round shots. Due to the special depth of field and the angle of view of 167° on the camera with MFT connections, all possibilities are open to the experimental photographer.

High-quality workmanship
The focal length of only 8 mm allows a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm. Exciting wide-angle images can be captured in brilliant sharpness. The fast aperture of f/3.5 enables excellent shots even in less favorable lighting conditions. The lens is optimized for the DSLR camera with APS-C sensor. A lens hood keeps out light from the side and prevents lens reflections. The glass lenses of the lens are coated with Samyang's own Ultra-Multi-Coating UMC and bring excellent contrast as well as very good sharpness. The optical construction consists of 7 groups of 10 elements, including an aspherical-hybrid lens (H-ASP). The lens's particularly high-quality optics ensure optimal image results with balanced colour reproduction.

New image design possibilities
With this Samyang Fisheye, photographers get a wide range of design options. Any lines that go through the center of the image will not be distorted. All others are shown in a strongly barrel-shaped pattern. This effect is used for effects in a variety of ways (e.g. globe effect or insect eye effect with typical, spherically distorted perspective).

Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor
Lenses designed for cameras with APS-C sensors can also be used on cameras with a full-frame sensor (mainly using an adapter). Due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the sensor area reproduces everything outside the image circle in black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera is therefore the same as that of a camera with an APS-C sensor and is correspondingly smaller. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. In video, this method requires framing in post-production. The use of APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
