Perfect for the unique
This Samyang 10 mm lens is ideal for architecture, interior, wide landscape, but also for art photography. The 105° angle of view covers almost ten times the area of a normal lens. The focal length corresponds to 15 mm in full format. In short, you won't miss a thing with this lens. In the interior, in reportage, architecture and travel photography, you never reach your limits. New dimensions open up in creativity.
Excellent image quality and high-quality workmanship
For excellent imaging performance, great importance was placed on optimum lens design. All 14 glass lenses are multi-coated, which prevents reflections and produces a brilliant, true color image. A special nanocoating provides even more contrast and even more brilliant colour rendering. This lens is elaborately calculated and built: Two of the 14 lenses are aspherically ground, one lens is made of high-refractive, low-distortion (ED) glass. Its advantage is perfect colour rendering and freedom from reflections. Focusing and aperture adjustment are done manually. The metal tube with its rubberized adjustment ring has a good grip, is very robust and convinces with its elegant appearance. Focusing is soft yet precise. The aperture values are locked clearly in half steps. The lens hood, which is necessary for the large image angle of 105° and precisely calculated for the image angle, is permanently mounted.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with full-frame sensor
Some lenses developed for cameras with APS-C sensors can also be used on cameras with full-format sensors (mainly by using an adapter). Due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the sensor area outside the image circle is black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full format camera thus equals that of a camera with an APS-C sensor and is correspondingly smaller. Therefore, the images have to be trimmed during post processing. In the video field, this method requires framing in post-production. The use of APS-C lenses on full frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
