This first Canon EF-mount autofocus lens from SAMYANG embodies the brand's universally acclaimed optical technology, especially in the wide-angle lens category. Out of a total of 15 lenses in 10 groups, 7 special optical lenses have been selected in the manufacture of this lens to maximise image quality. The use of two aspherical lenses, four high-refractive lenses and one ultra-low dispersion lens minimises distortion and various aberrations while producing crystal clear resolution. The remarkably uniform image quality from centre to corner of the wide 116.6° angle of view appears clearly on the MTF chart.
The minimised weight and movement of the focusing lens group enables smooth and comfortable autofocusing with high accuracy. This compact SAMYANG AF 14/2.8 DSLR Canon EF weighs only 485g without the protective cap, making it the ideal travel companion for capturing unforgettable moments on your trip. Weather protection and a built-in AF/MF switch add to the ease of use.
Designed for the best
For the best possible optical performance of the lens, the light flow has been specially optimised based on the ratio of the lens glass to the position of the sensor of Canon cameras. The high quality 14 mm 2.8 lens is designed to be compact and lightweight, despite its solid metal body.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
